As a part of the holistic approach of eradicating poverty in the Philippines by 2024, the GK Movement philosophy continues to mentor and empower the GK family beneficiaries in obtaining employment or in sustainable livelihood projects, such as goat-raising, fish raising or vegetable planting.  In his visit and observation in GK Villasis Namnama Village, GKeRotary president, President Art observed and did some preliminary interviews what is necessary to have a year-round fish raising, he found out that there is a need to tap existing ground water by simply having a well-planned water pump, powered by electric or solar power, near the fish ponds and the water can be stored in huge water tank nearby.   He created a Rotary committee to study such feasibility. PANGASINAN BROTHERHOOD-USA DONATES $3,000 TO BUILD ANOTHER GAWAD       KALINGA HOUSE IN GK-LAOAC NAMNAMA VILLAGE      By Ernie Delfin

Every year, dozens of Filipino Americans including former residents of Pangasinan go home for vacation.  This writer, who happens to be founder and charter president of the GKeRotary Club, respectfully recommend that they take a day or several hours to please have a visual tour of these two GK villages in both Villasis and Laoac and see for themselves the good and lasting projects that Pangasinan Brotherhood USA has been supporting the last couple of years. This is exactly what a delegation led by Rhenee Ferrer, PB-USA President Lino Caringal Jr, and EVP Neil Estrada did a couple years ago.  This year, PB-USA VP Rey Rodrigo and company also did a visual visit that tends to add more credibility to such a beautiful humanitarian project.

PB-USA Vice-President Rey Rodrigo visits GK Laoac Namnama Village 2 and Mayor Boying Alarcio

On March 13th ,  the GK-Laoac Namnama Village #2 became the recipient of  a Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA  check for $3,000 that was personally delivered  by GK e-Rotary Club President Art Azarcon to Soledad Montilla and the Town Manager of Laoac, representing Mayor Boying Alarcio witnessed by a couple dozen town department heads and key employees.   Said check was previously handed to Art Azarcon by PB-USA immediate past President Eddie Ferrer in his EC Ferrer Brokerage Office in Long Beach, prior to the departure of Art for the Philippines.  This monetary contribution from Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA will be the fourth GK house that has been donated by the brotherhood the last couple of years. The first three houses donated by PB-USA were the last houses that completed the 25 house GK Villasis Namnama Villlage # 1.                              As of this writing, six houses are almost completed, ready to be presented to the lucky homeless families as soon as possible.  Thereafter, another six houses are to follow that will include the house with an engraved marker showing PB-USA as the benefactor. It is expected that at least half of the 30 houses will be completed by Thanksgiving week, and as funds become available, more houses will be built and normally they are completed in about two months.  So any benevolent people and companies out there, please consider becoming like Eddie Ferrer and the Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA, in sharing their material blessings with those less fortunate in the Philippines. hin a year, we are ardently praying and hoping that the remaining houses will be funded fully by a huge grant from the Malaysian Berjaya Group that has pledged to finance 1,500 houses in the Philippines within the next 24 months.
