The Power of Dreams and the Significance of Financial Literacy

By Eddy Sumar

Eddy Sumar, author, consultant and founder of ERS Consulting Services, is pleased to be collaborating with Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA and it’s Youth & Hospitality Officer, Ferdinand B. Soriano, to bring the Power of the Dream and Financial Literacy to the youth of PB-USA and beyond.

Sumar and Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA believe that today’s youth need to be guided by their dreams, becoming the best they can become and fulfilling their own passions in life. We, as a community, we need to guide them in order for them to reach their ultimate potential.

The projects, The Power of Dreams and Financial Literacy, will help PB-USA youth and the NextGen group to identify their dreams, as well as the obstacles and facilitators, in order to design individual and practical plans and dream maps that will help each youth-participant to reach his or her own dreams.  In addition, each youth will participate in an intensive 3-day Financial Literacy boot camp highlighting the value of personal discipline in money mastery—becoming money-wise. Furthermore, each participant will learn how to become financially fit and fiscally responsible.

The combination of the Power of the Dream and Fiscal Responsibility will help the participants to become masters of their own destiny. Sumar and PB-USA believe and hope that this project will grow to become the foundation of success for the youth of PB-USA. PB-USA intends to establish this platform to enable the organization to be able to solicit grants to fund such an endeavor.

He is the inventor and patent holder of oil enhancer product its origin in Manila. It is now in USA.  Eddie Ferrer introduced Dennis Alvarez from Bayambang, Pangasinan who showed his product and company's brochure to the curious audience.  Mr. Alvarez further explained the impact of his new discovery in the control of carbon emission whose results are far more dramatic than oil enhancers currently in the market. .

An article about this scientific wonder is written by Lino F. Caringal, Jr. in the first issue of PB-USA Palaris newsletter. Eddie Ferrer announces, “Pangasinan Brotherhood's NextGens have arrived and have successfully taken over the realm of leadership and activities to continue the mission of PB-USA. Alcala in our minds … from page 4

Helping Alcala has always been a priority to AASC. It actively supports projects that are intended to improve the town and the life of its citizens. Aside from sending relief to victims of natural disasters, it has sponsored several Medical and Dental Missions over the years, the latest of which was held on April 28 this year.  It has immensely contributed toward the beautification of the town plaza, the town’s jewel and source of pride and joy. It has donated two ambulances in the past decade. In 2003, it built a health center in the barangay of Anulid, which drew not only people from Alcala but also the neighboring town of Bautista. It soon became a prototype for other barangay health clinics in Pangasinan.  AASC continues to help local schools. It gave the initial funding for the first classroom of the Canarvacanan High School. It built an open court for the Alcala Central School and just finished building a canteen at the San Vicente Elementary School. This is not to mention the school equipment and materials, books, backpacks and many other little things that they have donated to the various local schools.
